What’s in a name? The inception of Menace Group.
Many people ask where the name ‘Menace Group’ came from, what inspired it, and what does it stand for. Kevin Spiteri, Menacing Director shares his story behind the name.
As the website states, Menace Group was born out of sheer frustration for witnessing many marketing attempts being done poorly.
And, so it seems that with the majority of businesses in Australia alone being small businesses, attempting to market themselves, advertise, perform social and digital marketing and develop a consistent strategy that works, mediocrity has taken hold and businesses are accepting second best. It’s awful really. And downright not fair.
Enter Menace Group. This is a topic that is near and dear to the hearts at Menace Group, and whilst evidence of mediocrity served as the catalyst for the business establishment, as too was the name. Having had a number of conversations with many people from all walks of life regarding the name, we asked what perception ‘Menace Group – Marketing.Digital.Social’ created in their minds.
The responses were interesting to say the least:
‘I envisaged that you shake things up’
‘To me its being menacing, not conforming’
‘Its just a ‘cool’ name, I like it’
‘You like to do things different, you’re not the same as everyone else, and your ok with that’
‘I think you like to stir the pot, and challenge the status-quo’
Yep. That’s it. That’s exactly what we do.
It’s pretty simple. There was no need to complicate things. Businesses want pleasing results for their marketing investment, they aren’t overly interested in the methods, just the outcome.
So that’s what Menace Group does. It cuts the crap, reduces the marketing ‘jargon’ (after all, that’s what your paying for – expertise) and gives you what you need to achieve your business goals and objectives.
